3000th Hit for Wilson Friday, September 21st , 2001 It was a day of mixed emotions for Chicago (N) left fielder Hack Wilson, who collected his 3000th hit in the club's 9-8 loss to Milwaukee. Cubs and Brewers fans alike cheered Wilson as he reached base after his milestone hit. "I wish the score had been different," Wilson said after the game, "but it was a great moment. The standing ovation was really special... even the fans wearing Brewers caps were cheering me." Wilson was 2-for-5 on the day.
