Mickey Brantley of the Madison Express had a fine season this year and today he accepted the Most Valuable Player Award for 2000.

The 27-year-old right fielder put up a .319 average and a .385 on-base percentage, piling up 172 hits, 25 doubles, 8 triples, 22 home runs, 102 RBIs and 105 runs scored.

He received 20 first place votes, as a unanimous winner. Pat Kelly of the Madison Mallards finished second in voting, while Enrique Cruz of the Madison Express finished third.
