Twins 4-1 Winners Over Chicago (N)
|
Minnesota and Chicago (N) got after it at Wrigley Field.
Earl Francis, who finished 3rd in the NL in wins with 18 in 1994, had a strong outing for the Minnesota Twins against the Chicago (N) Cubs at Wrigley Field. The right-hander was a big part of his team's 4-1 win. In 7 innings, Francis surrendered 5 hits, while striking out 3 and walking 4. He allowed 1 run. Brusdar Graterol locked down his 26th save.
Eddie Lake, the 16th overall pick in the 1997 draft, had a direct impact on the outcome. Lake contributed a run-scoring single in the top of the fourth inning to put Minnesota up, 1-0.
"Earl gave us everything he had," said Minnesota manager Dan Hornbaker.
The win puts Minnesota at 59-51 this season.
