Colorado Win Divisional Series
Tuesday, October 14th, 1969
The Colorado Rockies "bent but didn't break" against the South Side White Sox in the Divisional Series.
That's according to Andy Stankiewicz of Colorado, who was named series MVP.
"Our guys faced adversity and overcame it. This series wasn't easy, but we stuck to our game and made it work," he said.
Colorado won the final game by a 10-1 count and the series 4-2.
Stankiewicz's MVP performance included hitting .471 with a .550 on-base percentage. He also had 0 home runs, drove in 5 RBI and scored 6 runs.
The Colorado Rockies don't know who they will face in the next round. They will play the winner of the Pittsburgh Pirates - Chicago Cubs series. That series is tied at 3 games apiece. The League Championship Series schedule will be announced after the Divisional Series finishes.
