Sheets Holds White Sox Scoreless Saturday, October 11th, 1969 In an outstanding outing, Colorado Rockies starter Ben Sheets tamed the South Side White Sox with a 2-hit shutout at Comisky Park today. The Colorado hurler went the distance, finishing with 7 strikeouts and no walks in the 9-0 win. "He had a lot of first-pitch strikes and kept us off balance with a lot of off-speed stuff," according to South Side manager Ricky Sanford. "We just didn't get too many balls squared up today."
