It was a smooth and solid performance by Edwin Jackson of the Pittsburgh Pirates against the South Side White Sox today. He crafted a fine 7-hitter to blank the White Sox 5-0. He chalked up 4 strikeouts and 1 walk along the way.

"It certainly makes my job easy when my pitcher tosses a shutout," said Pittsburgh skipper Cory Einhorn. "I can just sit back, watch and enjoy."

On the year Jackson has worked 127.2 innings with 70 strikeouts en route to a 7-5 record and 3.74 ERA.
