Dudley Twirls Shutout
Wednesday, October 1st, 1969
The bats were ice cold today for the Arizona Diamondbacks at Shea Stadium. New York Mets starter Clise Dudley kept the Diamondbacks cold all day, shutting them out in a 4-0 victory. In a fine outing, the 26-year-old hurler allowed 1 hit while striking out 4 and walking 1.
"I'm not quite sure what was different today," Dudley admitted later. "I didn't feel like I was doing anything differently, but the results speak for themselves."
His record this year is 3-3 in 9 starts and Dudley has a 3.66 ERA.
