D'Acquisto Dominates, Whitewashes Cardinals Thursday, September 25th, 1969 Brooklyn's John D'Acquisto brought his best stuff to Ebbets Field today, shutting down and shutting out the St. Louis Cardinals 11-0. He racked up 9 strikeouts, surrendered 4 hits and issued 5 walks on his way to the victory. "We barely made him work at all," St. Louis manager Doug Morton said later. "Brooklyn could probably pitch him again tomorrow if they wanted." So far this season D'Acquisto has picked up no saves in no relief appearances.
