Diamondbacks Come Back Late to Clip Red Sox
|
The Arizona Diamondbacks downed the Boston Red Sox, 5-3, at Chase Field. Bake McBride led the way, going 2-for-3 for Arizona. Arizona reliever Rod Scurry picked up the win, upping his record to 7-5. Pedro J Martinez shouldered the loss. Their 69-55 record puts the Diamondbacks second in the American League Up.
McBride had a game-changing double in the bottom of the eighth. On a 1-1 slider from Pedro J Martinez, he banged a bases-clearing double to left, giving the Diamondbacks a 5-3 lead. It was the 14th double of the year for McBride.
"I really like what we did out there today," McBride said after the game.
