Sal Fasano made an impact in the 11-1 Boston win over Arizona. Fasano belted 2 home runs, while adding 4 RBI and scoring twice. Al Shealy, the winner, improved to 10-5. He held the Diamondbacks to no earned runs on 4 hits over 7 innings, while striking out 3 and walking 2. Boston is now 64-59, 2 games up in the American League Down.
Fasano put Boston up, 11-0, when he hit a 3-run home run off Jim Beattie in the top of the seventh. His 12th home run of the season helped the Red Sox capture the win.
"I thought we played a nice game," Fasano told the Boston Daily News. "Good pitching, timely hitting, it was all there."
