Royals Get Road Win, 3-1
|
The Kansas City Royals got a magnificent performance from pitcher Bob Sebra, who stifled the Pittsburgh offense en route to a 3-1 Royals win at PNC Park. Sebra, now 1-0, was the winner. In 7 innings, he gave up 5 hits, while striking out 5, walking 2, and allowing no earned runs. Huston Street was credited with the save for Kansas City, his 1st of the season.
It could have been a different outcome for Kansas City, had it not been for Loren Babe, the 29-year old second baseman . Babe contributed a run-scoring ground out in the top of the sixth inning to put Kansas City up, 2-1.
In postgame comments to the Kansas City Citizen, Babe said, "If the effort is there, the wins will come."
Kansas City is off to a sluggish start, getting just their 4th win in 13 games.
