Marlins Bang Out 7-2 Win Versus New York
|
Conditions were not ideal but Miami and New York were able to put their game in the books.
Miami Marlins starter Brandon Cumpton kept the New York Mets hitters in check, leading his team to a comfortable 7-2 win. Today's win puts Miami at 54-66, while New York falls to 78-41.
Miami relied on the hitting of Harry Rice to pick up the win. The second baseman clubbed a 3-run home run in the top of the fourth inning to put the Marlins on top, 5-0. For the game, Rice had 1 home run and 1 single in 4 at-bats.
"We'll relax tonight and enjoy this win," said Cumpton.
