Bronx second baseman Jeff Branson had a 3-RBI game, which helped his team beat the Pittsburgh Pirates, 11-1. The Yankees bumped their record to 61-56 with this latest triumph.

Bronx took a 4-1 lead on Branson's 17th home run of the season. The 2-run home run, which he hit off Randy Wolf in the top of the sixth, propelled Bronx to the win.

"Baseball is about momentum," said Branson, "and we feel we've got it in our favor after that win."
