Dodgers Lose, 5-1, at Tiger Stadium
|
The Detroit Tigers topped the Brooklyn Dodgers, 5-1, at Tiger Stadium. Detroit third baseman Frank Catalanotto earned player of the game honors. He banged out 2 singles and 1 double, while driving in 2 runs. The Tigers move to 48-69 with the win, while the Dodgers drop to 53-64.
With Detroit leading 2-1 in the bottom of the fourth, Catalanotto hit a changeup from Mike Smithson for a 2-run single. It was his 57th hit of the season and put the Tigers ahead, 4-1.
"We'll pop the top on a cold one and get back to work tomorrow," Catalanotto said.
