Marlins Lose to Cubs, 4-2
|
The Chicago Cubs got a good effort from starter Stan Bahnsen in defeating the Miami Marlins at Wrigley Field. The final score was 4-2. Pedro Feliciano was credited with the save. He has now successfully converted 11 of 14 save opportunities. Chicago leads the National League Left by 16½ games.
Pat McNulty drew 2 walks for Chicago. The 31-year old right fielder had a key at-bat in the bottom of the second. With one out and the bases loaded, he broke a 0-0 tie with a run-scoring walk off Mike Leake. It was his 3rd walk of the season.
After the game, Chicago manager Matt Ida applauded the team's effort. "They busted their tails out there," he said.
