Late Rally by Mets Secures Win
|
Lamar Johnson helped his team muscle past the Brooklyn Dodgers, 5-4. In the game, the New York designated hitter was 3-5 with a home run and 2 singles. The win was Tim Stoddard's in relief. His record improves to 1-0. Mike A Anderson took the loss for Brooklyn. With their winning streak at 4, the Mets have raced to a strong start this season.
Eric Karros was the walk-off hero for New York. With the game tied in the bottom of the ninth inning, the Mets first baseman hit a dramatic run-scoring single to send the teams home.
"We'll grab a cold one tonight and go after another win tomorrow," Karros said.
