Diamondbacks RF Aoki goes 3-for-4 in Win
|
The Arizona Diamondbacks stopped the Colorado Rockies, 10-7, at Astrodome. The Diamondbacks got a big game from Norichika Aoki, who went 3-4 with a home run, 2 singles, and a walk, while scoring 3 times and driving in 2. Doug Davis, who went 6.2 innings, was the winning pitcher. He was charged with 7 runs on 8 hits, while walking 1 and striking out 4. His record now stands at 12-7. The Diamondbacks bumped their record to 61-53 with this latest triumph.
Arizona needed the clutch hitting of Boog Powell to notch the win. The designated hitter hammered a grand slam home run in the top of the first inning to put the Diamondbacks on top, 4-0. For the game, Powell had 1 home run and 1 single in 5 at-bats.
"One win at a time, one game at a time. We try not to get too far ahead of ourselves," Aoki told the Arizona Chronicle.
