Expos Lose, 5-3, at Ebbets Field
|
The Brooklyn Dodgers topped the Montreal Expos, 5-3, in American League action at Ebbets Field. The player of the game was Brooklyn pitcher Phil Nastu. The Dodgers now have a record of 49-61.
Mike A Anderson had a big 2-run single for the Dodgers in the bottom of the third inning. With Brooklyn leading 3-2 and runners on 2nd and 3rd, he got a fastball from Mike L Griffin and stroked the single to right. It was his 19th hit of the season, and more importantly, it put the Dodgers ahead, 5-2.
"It was a solid team effort and we'll try to keep this momentum going," Nastu told reporters after the game.
