Montreal and Brooklyn duked it out at Ebbets Field and the Expos came out victorious.

The Montreal Expos topped the Brooklyn Dodgers, 6-4, in National League action at Ebbets Field. The player of the game was Montreal right fielder Willie McGee. Kevin Tapani got the win, improving to 4-9. He worked 6.1 innings, giving up 3 runs on 6 hits, while striking out 5 and walking 2. Rob Johnson notched his 10th save in 12 chances.

With Montreal leading 3-1 in the top of the fourth, McGee hit a sinker from Mike Smithson for a 2-run double. It was his 16th double of the season and put the Expos ahead, 5-1.

"We'll relax tonight and get back after it tomorrow," McGee said after the game.

The Expos go to 51-59, putting them second in the National League Left.
