Pirates Prevail, 4-3, Over Milwaukee
|
Pittsburgh pitcher Hal Brown did his part in helping his team beat the Milwaukee Brewers, 4-3. The right-hander kept opposing batters in check throughout the game. Milwaukee has now lost 4 in a row.
The Pirates got a big at-bat from second baseman Glenn Beckert. For the game, Beckert was 1-3 with a double, while adding 2 RBI. In the bottom of the fourth, with runners on 1st and 3rd, he stroked a 2-run double. His 14th double of the season gave Pittsburgh a 4-3 lead.
"We had the game right there for the taking," said Milwaukee manager Michael Ejercito. "But we decided not to take it."
