Victory Pushes Red Sox Record to 57-53
|
Both teams had their opportunities, but in the end, the Boston Red Sox got the win.
The Boston Red Sox got a strong performance from pitcher Tyler Anderson, who stymied the Miami offense en route to a 3-2 win at Turner Field. Anderson, the winner, moves to 4-2. He threw 6.1 innings of 4-hit ball, while fanning 7 and giving up 3 walks.
It could have been a different outcome for Boston, had it not been for Steve Braun, the former first round draft pick . Braun contributed a run-scoring single in the top of the seventh inning to put Boston up, 3-1.
Anderson told a Boston Daily News reporter that he was "satisfied" with the win.
The second-place Red Sox have won 4 in a row.
