Richie Hebner Gets Hit Number 2000
For Richie Hebner, it was a red-letter day. The Pittsburgh Pirates third baseman slapped his 2000th career hit. That his team defeated the Milwaukee Brewers, 8-1, made it even sweeter.

His manager paid tribute to Hebner after the game: "I've followed Richie since he came into the league," he said. "Fine ballplayer. Fine work ethic. I'm not surprised by what he's achieved."

The 31-year-old Hebner finished the day with 1 hit in 4 at-bats.

Lifetime in 1748 games Hebner is batting .294 with 248 home runs and 885 RBIs.
