The Bronx Yankees powered past the Brooklyn Dodgers, 11-10, at Yankee Stadium I. Stan Musial was 4 for 6 with a home run and 2 doubles, while scoring 2 times and driving in 5, to lead the charge. Bronx reliever Omar Daal got the win, raising his record to 2-2. Sherman Corbett was tagged with the loss. The Yankees bumped their record to 55-51 with this latest triumph.

Musial had a game-changing double in the bottom of the tenth. On a full count curveball from Sherman Corbett, he banged a 2-run double to center, giving the Yankees a 11-10 lead. It was the 17th double of the year for Musial.

"This game will make a man of you," said Cley Twigg, the Bronx skipper, "if it doesn't kill you first."
