Late Rally by Royals Secures Win
|
The Royals faced a stiff challenge from Milwaukee pitcher Don August, but persevered to claim a win at Kauffman Stadium. The final score was 3-2. August went 7 innings and allowed 1 earned run. The third-place Royals have won 4 straight games.
Had Deion Sanders not delivered a key base hit in the bottom of the eighth, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and a runner on 3rd, Sanders hit a run-scoring single. That made the score 3-2, in favor of the Royals.
"We'll pop the top on a cold one and get back to work tomorrow," Sanders said.
