Herr 3-3 to Pull Orioles to .500
|
The Baltimore Orioles and Miami Marlins obliged those fans who came to Camden Yards looking for a good time.
Tom Herr was instrumental in his team's 5-4 triumph over the Miami Marlins. The designated hitter was 3 for 3 with a home run, a double, and a walk, while scoring 3 runs for the Baltimore Orioles. Baltimore reliever Chris Sale was the winner. His record is now 4-6. Nick Willhite took the loss. Bob Reed converted his 2nd save in 4 tries.
Mark Belanger drove in one run for Baltimore. The 22-year old shortstop had a key at-bat in the bottom of the eighth. With one out and runners on 1st and 3rd, he broke a 4-4 tie with a run-scoring ground out off Tim Davis. It was his 29th RBI of the season.
"Honestly, I'm not frustrated," said Miami manager Kyle Shea. "The effort was great."
The Orioles bumped their record to 50-50 with this latest triumph.
