Royals Win at Colorado, 6-5
|
The Kansas City Royals knocked off the Colorado Rockies, 6-5, at Astrodome. Alvin Davis, who captured player of the game honors, was a big reason Kansas City won. The first baseman was 2-3 with a home run and a walk. He drove in 3 runs and scored once. Happy Foreman earned his 6th save in 6 chances. Kansas City is last in the National League Left with a record of 39-61.
Davis had a game-changing home run in the top of the sixth. On a 2-2 curveball from Mike Boddicker, he banged a 3-run home run to right, giving the Royals a 3-1 lead. It was the 5th home run of the year for Davis.
"I know we have our doubters," said Colorado manager Ben Thompson. "But I still have high hopes for this team."
