Cubs Roll to 8-0 Win Over Diamondbacks
|
Chicago Cubs starter Chris Haney pitched a strong game against the Arizona Diamondbacks at Chase Field, leading the Cubs to a 8-0 win. Haney picked up the win for Chicago, going 8.1 innings. He gave up no runs on 5 hits. He now sports a record of 12-4. Chicago goes to 57-41. The win puts them 7½ games up in their division.
It could have been a different outcome for Chicago, had it not been for Dave Winfield, the top prospect . Winfield contributed a run-scoring single in the top of the first inning to put Chicago up, 1-0.
"The boys were really swinging the bats today," winning manager Matt Ida said.
