Cardinals Beat Expos in 10
|
The St. Louis Cardinals eked out a 3-2 win versus the Montreal Expos at Busch Stadium. Nobody did more than pitcher Chuck Estrada, who captured player of the game honors. This win makes it 5 in a row for St. Louis.
The clutch at-bat came in the bottom of the tenth inning, when St. Louis right fielder Rocky Colavito, facing Fautino De Los Santos, had a run-scoring sacrifice fly. It gave the Cardinals the 3-2 win.
"At the end of the day, it's always about your starting pitcher," said St. Louis skipper Doug Morton.
