|
Kansas City designated hitter Jake Crawford was instrumental in his team's 5-4 win over the Montreal Expos. Crawford, who is rated as the 99th best prospect by BNN, went 3-4 with 2 runs scored to lead the offensive attack for the Royals. Huston Street was credited with the save. He has now successfully converted 6 of 10 save opportunities. With the win, the Royals improved to 36-56.
It could have been a different outcome for Kansas City, had it not been for Loren Babe, the 29-year old second baseman . Babe contributed a run-scoring sacrifice fly in the top of the seventh inning to put Kansas City up, 5-4.
"One win at a time, one game at a time. We try not to get too far ahead of ourselves," Babe told the Kansas City Citizen.
