Tigers Walk Off with 4-3 Win
|
The Detroit Tigers topped the Chicago Cubs by the score of 4-3, with the largest share of the credit going to third baseman Frank Catalanotto. Catalanotto hit 2 home runs for the Tigers. Detroit reliever Frank Eufemia was the winner. His record is now 7-4. Adam Ottavino took the loss. The Tigers now have a record of 36-56.
Catalanotto had a game-changing home run in the bottom of the 14th. On a 1-1 fastball from Adam Ottavino, he banged a solo home run to right-center, giving the Tigers a 4-3 lead. It was the 3rd home run of the year for Catalanotto.
"We put a lot of pressure on ourselves," Catalanotto told a Detroit Chronicle reporter. "Sometimes we need just to relax."
