Marlins Use Late-Game Magic to Beat Diamondbacks
|
The Miami Marlins scored a 3-2 win versus the Arizona Diamondbacks at Chase Field. Miami pitcher Dick Pole nabbed top player honors in the tight contest. Miami reliever Tim Davis picked up the win, upping his record to 1-0. Clay Buchholz absorbed the loss. Larry Bearnarth earned the save, his 1st, for the Marlins.
Miguel Montero, who is a two-time All-Star, chipped in for Miami with a run-scoring single in the top of the sixth. For the game, the catcher had 2 hits in 4 at-bats with 1 home run, 1 single, 1 run scored, and 3 runs batted in.
"At the end of the day, it's always about your starting pitcher," said Miami skipper Kyle Shea.
With the win, Miami boosts its record to 4-5.
