Diamondbacks Lose to Red Sox, 4-1
|
Boston Red Sox starter Clayton Richard was locked-in. He led his team to a win over the Arizona Diamondbacks, 4-1. Boston is 42-45 and Arizona, with the loss, 46-42.
Boston took a 2-1 lead on Jorge Polanco's 76th hit of the season. The run-scoring single, which Polanco hit in the bottom of the seventh, left Arizona pitcher Ismael Valdez shaking his head.
"We put it together today and came out with the win," Richard said in postgame remarks. "That's the main thing."
