Cubs Throttle Royals, 6-1
|
Getting an impressive start from Lary Sorensen, Chicago beat Kansas City by the score of 6-1. Chicago is now 52-33, 7 games up in the National League Left.
Giancarlo Stanton's at-bat in the bottom of the third inning was a big one for Chicago. Coming to bat with one out, runners on 1st and 2nd and Chicago trailing 1-0, the right fielder hit a run-scoring single.
"I'm not out here to win a beauty contest," said Sorensen. "Obviously."
