5 Hits for Expos Martin
|
It was a sensational day at the plate for Al L Martin as he led the charge to a 4-3 win over the Brewers. The Montreal left fielder was pure misery for the Milwaukee pitching staff. He left them shell-shocked with 5 hits in 6 at-bats in an explosive display of hitting.
"Martin put the ball into play and he really hit it hard," said Michael Ejercito, manager for the Brewers, after the game. "When you do that, you've got a good chance to do some damage. And that's what happened. I feel like we threw some good pitches, but he just put some good swings on the ball."
Al L Martin hit an RBI single in the 1st, singled in the 4th, singled in the 7th, struck out in the 8th, walked in the 10th, singled in the 12th and singled in the 14th.
So far this season Martin is batting .261 with 8 home runs.
