Pittsburgh shortstop Benji Gil had a good game in a losing cause. His team fell, 5-4, to Montreal at PNC Park. Gil went 3 for 3 with 3 singles and a walk. Rob Johnson was credited with the save. He has now successfully converted 8 of 9 save opportunities. The second-place Expos now have a win-loss record of 39-40.
Francisco Lindor, who is a four-time All-Star, aided the Montreal cause with a 2-run single in the top of the sixth. For the game, the shortstop went 1 for 3, while adding 2 RBI.
