Royals Get Road Win, 2-1
|
Comisky Park was the site of a tense game between the South Side White Sox and Kansas City Royals.
Kansas City Royals starter Russ Kemmerer turned in a sterling performance against the South Side White Sox, leading his team to a slim 2-1 win. Oscar Villarreal got the save, his 5th in 9 chances.
Kansas City used the timely hitting of Tug Hulett to seize the win. The second baseman stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the seventh inning to put the Royals on top, 1-0. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.
"We put it together today and came out with the win," Hulett said in postgame remarks. "That's the main thing."
South Side's current losing streak is now 4 games.
