The Red Sox grabbed a win, 2-1, at La Stade Olympique, overcoming a fine effort from Montreal pitcher Paxton Crawford. Crawford went 9 innings and allowed 2 earned runs. Clayton Richard got credit for the win, improving to 6-7. He allowed 1 run on 7 hits in 8 innings. Pedro J Martinez converted his 6th save in 8 tries.

It could have been a different outcome for Boston, had it not been for Rajai Davis, the speedster . Davis contributed a run-scoring single in the top of the fifth inning to put Boston up, 2-0.

"We're all smiles after that win," Davis told the Boston Daily News.

Today's win puts Boston at 38-39, while Montreal falls to 37-39.
