Pirates Win in Extras
|
The Pittsburgh Pirates eked out a 2-1 win versus the Milwaukee Brewers at County Stadium. Nobody did more than pitcher James Paxton, who captured player of the game honors. The Pirates, now 44-27, have won 5 in a row.
Glenn Beckert had a nice at-bat for the Pirates with no one out in the top of the 15th. With a runner on 1st, the second baseman drew a walk, which would prove important in the Pittsburgh win.
"I tell our guys all the time, 'Every pitch is the right pitch if you put it in the right place, you believe in it and have conviction,'" Pittsburgh manager Cory Einhorn said.
