Pinson hits 2 home runs, Pirates Move to 43-27
|
Pittsburgh center fielder Vada Pinson played a vital role in his team's 10-4 triumph over Milwaukee. He hit 2 home runs. He scored 3 times and drove in 4 for Pittsburgh. Gene Bearden, credited with the win, is now 5-7. He allowed no runs on no hits in 1.1 innings. Pittsburgh has now won 4 straight, while the Brewers have lost 4 in a row.
Pinson had a game-changing home run in the top of the seventh. On a first pitch sinker from Steve Shea, he banged a 3-run home run to right, giving the Pirates a 4-3 lead. It was the 9th home run of the year for Pinson.
"We're stringing together some nice wins," said Pittsburgh manager Cory Einhorn.
