Marlins Prevail, 2-1, Over Boston
|
Boston got a terrific performance from pitcher Al Shealy, but it wasn't enough to beat the Miami Marlins. Miami won the Turner Field contest, 2-1. Shealy was the player of the game despite being on the losing side. He threw 6 innings of 5-hit ball. Miami reliever Brad Bergesen was the winner. His record is now 2-0. The losing pitcher was Al Shealy. Miami is still hoping to get on a roll. The win is just their 2nd in 7 games.
The Marlins got a big at-bat from first baseman Ronald Acuna. For the game, Acuna went 1-4, while adding 2 RBI. In the bottom of the third, with the bases loaded, he stroked a 2-run single. His 7th hit of the season gave Miami a 2-0 lead.
"If you ever get this game figured out," said Boston manager Daniel Hornbaker, "let me know."
