Phelps goes 3-for-4 as Diamondbacks Squeeze Past New York
The Arizona Diamondbacks turned back the New York Mets, 5-4, at Shea Stadium. Ken Phelps was named player of the game for his fine performance. He went 3-4 with a home run and 2 singles. He scored 2 runs and drove in 4. The Diamondbacks improve their record to 33-32 with the win over New York.

Phelps came through with some timely hitting for Arizona. With the score 0-0 in the top of the third and one down, Phelps hit a first pitch fastball for a grand slam home run. His 11th home run of the season made it 4-0, Arizona.

"Honestly, I'm not frustrated," said New York manager Jamie Dagostini. "The effort was great."
