Expos Stymie Detroit, Take 5-1 Win
|
Montreal Expos starter Steve Dunning was locked-in. He led his team to a win over the Detroit Tigers, 5-1. Reliever Cy Buker picked up the win. His record improves to 6-2. Frank Eufemia took the loss. The Expos, at 33-30, have now won 4 straight.
Montreal took a 2-1 lead on Miguel Cabrera's 62nd hit of the season. The run-scoring single, which Cabrera hit in the bottom of the seventh, left Detroit pitcher Julio Teheran shaking his head.
Dunning called the win the result of "everyone being in sync."
