Red Sox Pull Even With 3-1 Victory
|
Boston starter Clayton Richard put a stranglehold on the New York offense. The left-hander had complete command of his fastball in leading the Red Sox to a 3-1 win. Stan Wall converted his 1st save in 1 tries. The Red Sox bumped their record to 31-31 with this latest triumph.
Eli Marrero, who is rated as the 29th best prospect by BNN, chipped in for Boston with a solo home run in the bottom of the fifth. For the game, the catcher had 2 hits in 3 at-bats with 1 home run, 1 single, 1 run scored, and 1 RBI.
Marrero said the team appreciates the support from the fans. "I'm glad we could reward them with a good win," he said after the game.
