White Sox Lose, 5-3, at Yankee Stadium I
|
South Side third baseman Kevin Stocker had a good game, even if his team did not. The White Sox dropped a 5-3 decision to Bronx at Yankee Stadium I. Stocker was 3 for 3 with 3 singles and a walk. David Palmer got the win, improving to 6-5. He pitched 5.1 innings, giving up 10 hits and 3 runs, while striking out 2 and walking 2. Picking up the save was Tim Scott, his 1st.
The Yankees got a big at-bat from first baseman Scooter Gennett. For the game, Gennett was 1-4 with a home run, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. In the bottom of the fourth, with a runner on 2nd, he stroked a 2-run home run. His 11th home run of the season gave Bronx a 4-3 lead.
"You can't get too high when things go well, or too low when things go bad. Right now, I'm just happy we got the win," Gennett told the Bronx Daily News.
The Yankees bumped their record to 28-26 with this latest triumph.
