Marlins Jolt Cubs with Late Rally
|
Miami Marlins starter Brandon Cumpton was locked-in. He led his team to a win over the Chicago Cubs, 4-3. Miami reliever Ralph Birkofer was the winner. His record is now 2-0. Chris Leroux took the loss. The Marlins, at 22-32, sit in last place in the American League Down.
Sean Casey was the walk-off hero for Miami. With the game tied in the bottom of the ninth inning, the Marlins first baseman hit a dramatic run-scoring single to send the teams home.
"We put together a nice win," Cumpton said.
