Mathews Finds Groove in 7-2 Triumph
|
The Brooklyn Dodgers got a stellar performance from pitcher Greg Mathews, who handcuffed the Detroit offense en route to a 7-2 win at Ebbets Field. Brooklyn has a 3-game win streak, while Detroit has lost 3 in a row.
The Tigers had little chance against Mathews, who overpowered Detroit hitters and struck out 12.
"We did a lot of things right," said Mathews.
