Mets Stun Brewers, 5-4
|
The New York Mets downed the Milwaukee Brewers, 5-4, at Shea Stadium. Josh Willingham led the way, going 4-for-5 for New York. New York reliever Al Hrabosky picked up the win to move to 3-2. Bill V Swift suffered the loss. New York is now 32-21, 4 games up in the American League Up.
Willingham had a game-changing home run in the bottom of the ninth. On a first pitch sinker from Bill V Swift, he banged a 3-run home run to left-center, giving the Mets a 5-4 lead. It was the 10th home run of the year for Willingham.
"Honestly, I'm not frustrated," said Milwaukee manager Michael Ejercito. "The effort was great."
