The Montreal Expos stopped the Arizona Diamondbacks, 6-2, at Chase Field. The Expos got a big game from Willie Aikens, who went 2 for 4 with a home run and a double, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 2. Picking up the save was Roger McDowell, his 1st. The Expos go to 28-25, putting them second in the National League Left.
Montreal used the clutch hitting of Ron LeFlore to capture the win. The left fielder drilled a run-scoring double in the top of the seventh inning to give the Expos the lead, 3-2. For the game, LeFlore had 1 single and 1 double in 5 at-bats.
"It's a good day to be a fan after a win like that," LeFlore told the Montreal Citizen.
