Brewers Win at Chicago, 5-2
|
Milwaukee Brewers starter Jim Kaat was in a rhythm all game. He led his team to a win over the Chicago Cubs, 5-2. Steve Shea earned the save, his 1st. The last-place Brewers raised their record to 21-31.
Milwaukee relied on the hitting of Curt Flood to pick up the win. The third baseman ripped a 2-run single in the top of the fourth inning to put the Brewers on top, 3-0. For the game, Flood had 1 triple and 1 single in 4 at-bats.
"It's a mindset," said Kaat. "Just trying to do your job, trying to be consistent."
