Tigers Come Back Late, Nip Rockies
|
In a low-scoring clash between Detroit and Colorado, pitcher Ron Darling was a difference-maker. The right-hander earned player of the game honors for Detroit in the 3-2 win. Their 21-27 record puts the Tigers third in the National League Left.
Jody Davis was the walk-off hero for Detroit. With the game tied in the bottom of the ninth inning, the Tigers catcher hit a dramatic run-scoring single to send the teams home.
"I felt we were ready to go," said Detroit manager Brian Rodgers. "Our pregame was pretty good."
